Production
Core Production Courses
In the 9th and 10th grades, ACTvF students are enrolled in a sequence of introductory courses which provide them with an understanding of the history and structure of the industry, and the nature of different career paths. In these courses, students develop the skills to begin conceiving and realizing productions of their own.
Specialized Production Sequences
In the 11th grade, ACTvF students will select an area of specialization and enter a sequence of advanced courses. Internship placements will be designed to complement students’ majors, and students will be required to complete additional specialized graduation requirements. 11th and 12th graders self-select into one of three areas of specialization: screenwriting / directing, crew, and post-production. Within each of these majors, students are afforded opportunities to receive hands on training in scores of different industry jobs. Students from all majors collaborate together on projects which become increasingly sophisticated as students approach graduation. Additional industry professionals regularly participate in teaching and facilitating advanced coursework.
