Mentoring and Interships In order to ensure that all graduates are prepared for the workplace, ACTvF is committed to providing students with the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals on authentic production jobs. To accomplish this mission, partners of the school founded a non-profit production company called Next Step Pictures in 2009. Next Step Pictures provides video production services to a range of local clients including non-profits and community businesses. These jobs are completed by students at ACTvF working under the guidance of production teachers and industry partners. To date, Next Step Pictures has produced work for New Visions for Public Schools, the National Dance Institute, Crossings TV, the East River Development Alliance, and the New York City Department of Education. In coming years, Next Step Pictures will be supported by a combination of paying clients, private donations, and grants allowing for an expansion of operations and for students to earn scholarships to be used for post-secondary studies.
