Dr. Mark Dunetz began his career in the New York City public schools in 1998 and has worked as a high school teacher of ESL and social studies, a program evaluator for the National Science Foundation, an educational consultant, and a professor of research methods at the City Collge of New York and of educational administration at Baruch College's School of Public Affairs. Dr. Dunetz earned his B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz, his M.A. in Teaching Speakers of Other Languages from New York University and his Ph.D. in Urban Education with a concentration in Education Policy from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. His doctoral dissertation examined an ambitious reform project at a comprehensive urban high school in order to better understand the relationship between school structures and institutional goals. Dr. Dunetz organized the ACTvF planning team in 2007 and was the founding principal when the school opened in September 2008. Dr. Dunetz is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Edgar Rodriguez moved to the United States from his native Caracas, Venezuela to attend the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he studied biology and worked as a laboratory researcher. Upon graduating with a bachelor's degree, Mr. Rodriguez moved to New York City where he pursued a M.A. in Secondary Mathematics Education at Hunter College. He began his teaching career in the New York City public schools at Vanguard High School where he developed and implemented innovative mathematics curriculum for seven years. Mr. Rodriguez was a founding member of the ACTvF planning team and serves as the school's assistant principal. Mr Rodriguez is an accomplished contemporary dancer who performs with the New York based dance company Rastro.

Alan Metzger is an award winning director of over twenty-five network and cable movies and numerous one hour episodes. For fifteen years, Mr. Metzger worked as a director of photography on commercials, TV series, and features before working for twenty years as a director and producer on over thirty projects including episodes of Law and Order and The Equalizer. After retiring from the industry, Mr. Metzger pursued a master's degree in English Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Metzger taught English at Santa Monica High School before returning to his native New York where he worked teaching documentary filmmaking at the Department of Education's laboratory school, City Hall Academy. Mr. Metzger holds a degree in English Literature from Wesleyan University. He was a founding member of the ACTvF planning team and serves as the director of the school's production unit.
